My Story

My agility career began in 2011 with a borrowed dog named Zoë. I still clearly remember our first agility lesson together. Both Zoë and I were quite nervous, and the instructor didn’t have much confidence that we would succeed. But for me, giving up was not an option. With a lot of patience, we eventually managed to reach competition level and even won a few nice prizes!

In 2015 I got my first own dog, Winnie, a Miniature American Shepherd. Winnie and I have shared countless adventures and built a wonderful agility career together. We competed and reached the podium at tournaments in various countries, participated twice in the World Agility Open, and became Dutch Champion in 2022.

In 2020, my pack grew with the addition of Lexie, also a Miniature American Shepherd. Lexie currently competes in grade 2 agility and has already participated in several tournaments.

In the fall of 2023, Macy joined our family. Macy has the same mother as Lexie, and the two of them truly act like sisters. Macy has also started her agility journey and will soon compete in her first trial. She absolutely loves agility, and I’m really looking forward to the future with her.

Very nice agility career

I really enjoy helping other dogs and their handlers improve in agility. My way of training and teaching is mainly based on skill training. My belief is that if a dog hasn't properly mastered a specific skill, you can't expect them to perform it correctly in a course.

For example, if a dog isn’t very strong on the "out" and you, as the handler, need to help a lot, it might cause your dog to take the next obstacle incorrectly or even refuse it, because you were too focused on the "out". A solid "out" could have prevented that. Once the skills are strong, you can link them together in a full course.

The name WINNAgility is of course partly inspired by my dog Winnie, but beyond that, it also reflects my ambitions. The dog should always come first, and having fun with your dog is more important than winning. But in my view, there’s nothing wrong with ambition; the ambition to WINN. That’s also what you can expect from me as a trainer: I will always do my absolute best to help you reach your goals.

WINNAgility is also an official reseller of Nooffz Tugs in Sweden.
